The last single before the album #lovestorm is released is Painting Black. This song was written in 2013, shortly after Martin's visit to the ABBA Museum as one of several songs in a kind of writing frenzy.
Inspired by his personal encounter with Frida of Abba, Martin wrote several songs in quick succession, all of which will make it onto the upcoming album. The reference to Abba is obvious in this song: In terms of sound concept, he would be more in the mid- 70s.
The text, however, is timeless and deals with human creativity and the duty to optimism. If we want to shape a future worth living on this planet, we cannot do so without optimism. Because pessimism is simple, you are automatically right if you remain inactive. For a better future, we have to dare something and we have to get creative, no matter in which area. The art methaper shown in the video is transferable to other spheres.
